Hello! We are Joe and Jess Sanders and we are the owners of LYH Automotive LLC. The First thing we would like for you to know about us is that we love God, love people, and desire to serve both well. We love helping others get where they are going. The second thing you should know is that we love the Lynchburg area! It is here where we came for College, met each other, built a life together, and are now building a business together!

We both grew up in the Northern VA suburbs. Jess’ family was stationed there through the military and Joe’s family has been there for several generations. Joe grew up working on cars alongside his Dad in their family’s automotive shop. At age 14 he became an official employee and has been improving his mechanical skills ever since. Working alongside his Dad, Joe learned not only a strong work ethic and how to be a good technician, but also how to serve his community well. It was during these early years that we both developed a passion to love God and love people through watching the examples of our parents and other mentors.

   In the early 2000’s we met while home on summer break from our separate colleges. We started dating and Joe convinced Jess to transfer to the University he was attending in Lynchburg to finish her degree. A couple years later we married and the rest is history. Throughout our college years Joe worked as a technician at a local dealership and Jess worked at a local Non-profit. After college, we decided to remain in the area and make Lynchburg home. We love everything this area has to offer! Over the years, we have put down deep roots through the relationships that have formed from serving our community in various roles, working, and raising our family.

     Through his career, Joe has worked in both corporate and private sectors. He has earned his ASE Master Technician, Honda factory trained technician, and Hyundai factory trained technician certifications. He has also had the opportunity to broaden his skill set by working on a multitude of makes, models, and mechanical issues. Joe is especially gifted in being able to identify and repair complex automotive issues.

     In more recent years, we have felt that a big change was coming. Various events took place that lead us to a decision to launch LYH Automotive. We wanted the freedom and ability to be able to serve our community by offering reasonably priced automotive maintenance with integrity, quality, and accuracy. We aim to use our skill sets to serve those in our community and in the process, combat the stigma associated with automotive repair. We strive to do this by providing quality car care for our customers through keeping them informed about their car maintenance, accurately diagnosing issues, and using quality parts and service to ensure their satisfaction.
